Expert: Switch to EHR quality reporting is tough, but worth it

It is difficult to report quality measures when a hospital's data is paper-based instead of electronic, one industry leader says. Despite the challenges of complying with the meaningful use requirement of reporting on quality, the industry is on the right track to electronic -- instead of paper-based -- quality research and reporting, which will lead to improvements in the long run, she says.
