India's Bharti Retail plans to become a national retailer

Bharti Retail is looking to expand throughout India. The company plans to launch stores in the south part of the country and is scouting for sites in the west and centre, sources said. "Bharti Retail has announced plans to increase the number of retail stores to about 140 across India by end of this year and in support of this plan, we are sourcing real estate, pan-India," said a representative of Bharti Retail.
