Instructional coaches help Idaho district make gains in achievement

An Idaho district is crediting instructional coaches for helping raise achievement among students this year. The Caldwell School District ensured each of its schools had a full-time teaching coach to serve as mentors and models while working with teachers one-on-one and in groups. This year, the district, which fell short of federal adequate yearly progress at all of its schools three years ago, expects to achieve the benchmark at eight of 10 schools.
