The Mashpee Wampanoag tribe faces several obstacles to building a tribal casino in Fall River, Mass. The state must first legalize expanded gambling, and the tribe would also have to repay the state $34 million for road work. The state Legislature would need to lift a ban on casinos for the 300-acre site in Fall River.
