NYC firm picked for Seattle's Alaskan Way Viaduct project

The Washington State Department of Transportation has awarded a $115 million contract to Skanska for construction of the Alaskan Way Viaduct. The project will build a new 0.8-mile viaduct on the State Route 99 bypass in Seattle. Skanska, based in New York City, plans to begin construction this summer.
