Purdue, Indianapolis partner to help infested trees

The Indianapolis Department of Public Works and Purdue University are teaming up to study and treat a pest infestation of trees in the downtown area. Purdue is providing pesticides to treat the trees for calico scale infestation -- a small, white and dark brown insect that infects woody landscape plants -- and hopes to develop ways to prevent future infestations.
