Senate climate bill to create 203,000 jobs annually in next 10 years

The Senate climate bill would raise the average annual U.S. employment by 203,000 between 2011 and 2020 as the country shifts from fossil fuels toward more renewable energy and nuclear power, according to analysis by the nonpartisan Peterson Institute for International Economics. The bill would also cut U.S. oil imports from the approximately 11 million barrels daily in 2008 to about 6.6 million barrels to 7.4 million barrels a day in 2030, the study added.
