AICPA opposes model law requiring out-of-state sales and use tax reporting

The AICPA testified against a model law being considered by the Multistate Tax Commission that would require out-of-state retailers to report sales made to in-state customers. The draft statute is designed to increase use-tax compliance, but the AICPA testified that it would burden retailers without necessarily increasing state revenues.
