Colo. city council might toughen fireworks rules

The Longmont, Colo., City Council is scheduled today to consider an ordinance that would prohibit fireworks use adjacent to another property if it were to cause "sparks, flame, smoke, heat, sound or odor to migrate" to the other property. Violators would be fined as much as $500 and jailed as long as 90 days.
