Elementary-school project tests students' business savvy

An elementary school in Clarksville, Tenn., recently hosted an Eco Fair, in which students gathered in the cafeteria to sell their creations, including earrings and pencil pouches. Leading up to the fair, students were asked to develop business plans, purchase materials, develop inventory and set costs -- a project intended to teach science, technology, engineering and math -- or STEM -- skills, as well as integrate social studies, reading and writing.
