Expected retirement resources vary by income, survey shows

Lower-income Americans expect to rely on Social Security and part-time work to fund their needs in retirement, while affluent Americans trust their investment accounts and pension plans to see them through, a Gallup survey indicates. Gallup's annual Economy and Personal Finance poll found that 65% of nonretired upper-income people expect an IRA or 401(k) to be a key source of retirement money, while just 26% of lower-income Americans say the same thing.
