Junk food's impact on brain may be ameliorated by omega-3s

Omega-3 fatty acids appear to arrest the effects of junk food's saturated fat and refined sugar on brain processes that control food intake, according to a review published in the British Journal of Nutrition. "Fish oils don't appear to have a direct impact on weight loss, but they may take the brakes off the detrimental effects of some of the processes triggered in the brain by high-fat diets," lead researcher Dr. Lucy Pickavance said.
