Lawmakers OK bill to limit Texas university regents' firing ability

A bill to restrict university regents' ability to remove campus presidents has passed in the Texas Senate and moved to Gov. Rick Perry's desk. Under the measure, a recommendation from the University of Texas System chancellor would be required for regents to be able to fire a president. The bill's passage came as regents remain at odds with a campus president and state lawmakers.
