Mignon Clyburn becomes acting FCC chief today

Federal Communications Commission member Mignon Clyburn today is scheduled to assume the title of acting chair, becoming the first woman to head the agency. The FCC, with the departure of Chairman Julius Genachowski and member Robert McDowell, will have three members until at least early next month. That's the earliest time the Senate Commerce Committee can hold a hearing on the nomination of Tom Wheeler as chairman.
