Former Bon Appetit magazine food editor Kristine Kidd says she had digestive problems all her life but they became impossible to ignore a couple of years ago so she tried a gluten-free diet and found her symptoms soon subsided. Going gluten-free has become increasingly popular with people who have not been diagnosed with celiac disease, fueling the growth of gluten-free options in grocery stores and restaurants.
