Research finds gender disparities in trauma center care

Researchers examined data on almost 99,000 adult patients in Canada with serious injuries and found that fewer than 50% of the women were treated in trauma centers compared with more than 63% in men. The figures for men and women 65 and older were almost 50% and 38%, respectively. The findings were presented at a meeting of the American Thoracic Society.
