Settlement of India's $2.2B tax dispute with Vodafone is possible

India's new law minister, Kapil Sibal, has quickly reversed his predecessor's decision, favoring an out-of-court settlement of a long-pending $2.2 billion tax dispute with U.K. telecom giant Vodafone. Former Law Minister Ashwani Kumar had considered such a settlement illegal. The reversal is good news for foreign investors.
