Study: Excess body fat after age 50 raises cardiovascular risk

Excess body fat in people over age 50 can lead to hardening of the arteries and an increased risk of dying from cardiovascular disease, according to a U.K. study in the journal Hypertension. Researchers said the findings indicate that benefits gained from losing weight may depend on a person's age and how long he or she has been overweight.
