Weighing the part coaches should play in teacher evaluations

Elena Aguilar, a transformational leadership coach, writes in this blog post that she is uncertain whether coaches should be part of the teacher-evaluation process. She writes that coaches should not be used to "eject" teachers from the classroom, but instead work to help support and improve struggling teachers. It would be possible for coaches to play a role in evaluations, she writes, if the current climate was not one in which teachers are made to feel ashamed for their struggles.
