Political campaigns use Web to target message

Political candidates in local, statewide and presidential campaigns increasingly are using the Internet to target their messages to specific geographic areas. In one example, The Washington Post's washingtonpost.com last month ran ads for a Democratic congressional candidate that only readers with ZIP codes in the candidate's district saw.
