MRI drug can boost potency of chemo drugs

French researchers say the drug mangafodipir, used as a contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging, can boost the effectiveness of some cancer therapies. The drug increases the cancer-killing ability of some chemotherapy drugs while also protecting normal cells.
