Letter: Lawmaker asks Google to disclose privacy practices

Google should disclose its privacy practices since taking over DoubleClick to ensure "every effort is made to protect consumers' data," according to a letter from U.S. Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, to the search giant's CEO, Eric Schmidt. Barton set a June 6 deadline for a response. Google will respond to Barton's questions, a company spokesman said.
