Education advocates worry some school programs may be cut in budget

With Democrats controlling the White House and Congress, advocates are concerned that cuts President Barack Obama made to education programs in his proposed fiscal 2010 budget may stick. "It makes us more fearful when a Democratic administration zeroes out a particular program," said the CEC's Deborah Ziegler. Among the programs at risk is one that provides $7.5 million in funding for gifted education.
