Google's phone guru talks Android past and future

Google expects more devices will adopt its Android operating system this year, said Andy Rubin, Google's director of phone platforms, who noted Google introduced its software in late 2007 and the end-to-end development cycle lasts about 18 months. In an interview, Rubin also pushed Google's case for open-source systems and detailed the evolution of Android's business model.
