Government cloud systems not off the ground yet

Although federal agencies are taking steps to increase their use of cloud-based services, the U.S. government's glacial budgeting process and vendors that aren't prepared for the scope of government projects are slowing down developments in the shared IT space, according to several executives speaking at a government IT forum this week. Cybersecurity standards are proving to be another hurdle, as vendors are having to adjust their contracts to comply with the complicated web of federal security regulations.
