Salt Lake City public safety site under fire

A former project manager for the downtown library wrote a letter protesting the Salt Lake City location favored by the mayor for a $125 million public safety complex. According to Ken Ament, the soil at the east end of Library Square has been contaminated by nearby gas stations. Ament also said Library Square is unsuitable for the public safety complex because it is a liquefaction site that suffers from seismic activity.
