Senate OKs acquisition reforms

The Senate voted unanimously Wednesday to reform the Pentagon's weapons-buying process. The bill, a compromise hammered out by House and Senate negotiators, requires greater competitive prototyping, new decision-making criteria and stricter cost thresholds. The House is scheduled to vote on the compromise bill today to meet a Memorial Day deadline urged by President Barack Obama.
