Solar trees on airport garage will collect rainwater, generate electricity

Massport will install 16 "solar trees" on the roof of a parking garage at Boston's Logan International Airport as part of a $55.7 million rehabilitation project. The trees, which are actually steel structures that use solar panels as a roof, could produce 2.5% of the energy needed by the garage. They will also collect rainwater for cleaning and landscaping.
