BCBS awards grants to promote student wellness programs

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is promoting exercise, healthy eating and weight loss among students with grants of $20,000 to $50,000 to 22 elementary schools and nine community groups in the state. The company said 12% of the state's middle school children and 15% of high school students are considered obese.
