Oberstar: Expect FAA reconciliation by July 4

Official negotiations have not yet begun to iron out differences in House and Senate legislation for long-term reauthorization of the FAA, but Rep. James Oberstar, D-Minn. -- chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee -- predicts a deal will be done by July 4 on a long-term reauthorization of the FAA. He specifically denied claims by FedEx President Fred Smith that the legislation is being held up by Oberstar's insistence on language that encourages unionization at FedEx. "There is no delay; don't buy the Fred Smith garbage," Oberstar said.
