Study: Older women can skip radiation for early-stage breast cancer

It is safe for older women with early-stage breast cancer to forgo radiation therapy and take tamoxifen instead to prevent disease recurrence after undergoing lumpectomy, a clinical trial suggests. The study focused on women aged 70 and older with stage I estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.
