Canada approves Life Technologies' Dx sequencing devices

Life Technologies has received approval in Canada for its Applied Biosystems 3500 Dx Series Genetic Analyzers to be used in diagnostic applications. The series includes the 3500xL system, which is a 24 capillary-based Sanger sequencer, and the 3500 Dx device, which is an eight-capillary tool. The devices were cleared by the FDA earlier this year.
