Corning to unveil fiber-based indoor antenna system

Corning is expected to demonstrate today at CTIA 2013 a distributed antenna system based on fiber-optic, rather than coaxial, cables designed to resolve limitations of an indoor wireless technology that has grown more complex in the Wi-Fi era. The Corning Optical Network Evolution Wireless Platform, or Corning ONE, in which fiber extends from remote antennas to base systems inside buildings, is designed to allow multiple network distributors to operate along different frequencies.
