EPA criticized for limiting comment period for pollution rules

The American Petroleum Institute criticized the Environmental Protection Agency for limiting the public comment period for a proposed rule that would reduce the sulfur content of gasoline. "EPA is cramming through unnecessary new regulations for gasoline that could drive up costs without providing significant environmental benefits," said Bob Greco, API's downstream director. "By limiting public comments, EPA is trying to skirt public participation and transparency in the rulemaking process."
