FCC's Clyburn seeks to reassure industry on spectrum goals

Mignon Clyburn, the acting head of the Federal Communications Commission, told a CTIA 2013 audience on Tuesday that despite being two members short the agency was proceeding at full speed toward solutions to meet the wireless industry's spectrum needs. "The FCC wireless agenda remains focused," she said. Toward that end, the FCC on Friday sought comments on a new band plan for the upcoming incentive auction that would let the amount of spectrum sold vary in each market. AT&T and a broadcasters group dismissed a pair of alternative plans advanced by the FCC.
