Groups to develop alternate common core assessments

Alternate-assessment consortia Dynamic Learning Maps and the National Center and State Collaborative are working on common core assessments for students with severe cognitive disabilities to be administered during the 2014-15 school year. Along with the tests, the groups are working on model lessons, resources and specific guidance for teaching academics to this student population, where lessons traditionally have been limited to teaching life skills.
