IAEA chief notes progress in safety after Fukushima incident

The global nuclear industry is moving on more than two years after the Fukushima Daiichi incident in Japan, said Yukiya Amano, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The incident had a major impact on public confidence in nuclear energy, "but I believe we have made good progress in winning back that confidence," Amano said. Cooperation between the IAEA and the World Association of Nuclear Operators plays a key role in that progress, he added.
