IRS gives Oklahoma tornado victims filing and payment extensions

Victims of Monday’s devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma have been given tax filing and payment relief by the Internal Revenue Service. For taxpayers who reside in affected counties, the IRS will automatically abate any interest, late-payment, or late-filing penalties until Sept. 30. The IRS says it is monitoring the situation and may provide further relief based on FEMA damage assessments.
