Mobile farmers markets bring healthy foods to food deserts

A grant-funded program to send mobile farmers markets into food desert neighborhoods in the Norfolk, Va., area helps increase access to healthy foods and fresh produce. Community health advocate Amy Paulson said there is debate over whether improving access to nutritious foods will change eating habits, but that families need to be better educated about healthy eating and community leaders must provide more access to healthy alternatives.
