Multigenerational trips to drive summer travel this year, experts say

A panel of hospitality and travel industry experts came together at the Leisure Travel Summit in New York last week to discuss encouraging trends that point to another strong travel season this summer. Some panelists pointed to the increasing popularity of multigenerational travel as a driver of this growth. A recent survey by AAA showed one-third of respondents stating plans to take a multigenerational trip within the next 12 months. "Of those multigenerational travelers, 25% are traveling in groups of three generations, which is a very striking number," said Bill Sutherland, vice president of travel services at AAA.
