When the economy took a hit, concierges were one of the first items cut from spa budgets. But as it begins to recover, many concierges have brought back the position to their businesses to the next level. "The concierge provides the first impression of your business," said Lacy Hardy, who owns Sunflower Spa in Appleton, Wis. "From the first phone call, she tries to relay to clients the experience that they are going to receive when they come in. It's a very challenging role."
