Looks like texting is here to stay

Wireless carriers are responding to a continually growing demand for text messaging by offering consumers new service plans, such as unlimited text messaging. Market research indicates the age group most likely to send and receive text messages is 13- to 24-year-olds. CTIA-The Wireless Association® estimates that a total of 158 billion text messages were sent nationwide in 2006, nearly double the number in 2005.
