Study of Avandia made possible by GSK trial data disclosure

The information used by a researcher to reach the conclusion that Avandia posed a heightened cardiac risk was available because drugmakers have been pushed to disclose more trial results. Dr. Steven Nissen a Cleveland Clinic cardiologist, said he stumbled across GlaxoSmithKline's Web site while researching Avandia, and found "a treasure trove."
