Study: Carbon emissions rise globally

Carbon dioxide emissions between 2000 and 2004 increased at a rate of three times more than in the 1990s, according to a climate study report released by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Rapid economic growth that relies on traditional energy sources such as coal, oil and natural gas contributed to the rise, the report said.
