Insurers in Florida can set insurance rates without revealing what pricing model they use. That practice, although not unusual, is being questioned in Washington, where some officials say using credit scores or risk-based pricing in setting premiums is discriminatory and unfair to the poor and minorities. Florida is set to ask companies to explain more about the rate-setting process.
