Southern portion of Brick Yard development in Maryland approved

Preliminary and site plans for the southern section of the Brick Yard, a $500 million mixed-use project in Maryland between Laurel and Beltsville, have been approved, meaning work on the project could begin later this year. The southern section of the project is to be a planned community near a commuter rail station. Plans for a northern portion were approved 18 months ago.
