Lawmaker slams FDA safety plan as inadequate

Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn, said plans to improve food safety don't do enough. She told the acting FDA commissioner she wants new performance standards, identification of foods at greatest risk, sampling to detect contamination and a requirement that the industry report problems when they are found.
