Lawmaker slams FDA safety plan as inadequate

Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., said plans to improve food safety don't do enough. She told the acting Food and Drug Administration commissioner she wants new performance standards, identification of at-risk foods, sampling for contaminated products, and a requirement that the industry report problems when they are found.
