UNEP: "Alien species" threaten biodiversity, cost world trillions

Invasive alien species cost the world economy $1.4 trillion in damages, yet most governments ignore the problem, the United Nations Environment Programme said. Humans inadvertently transport alien-life forms such as insects, weeds and fungi across borders.
