Architect's concrete dome is designed to withstand tornadoes

The devastation caused by recent tornadoes in Oklahoma has prompted architect D. Thomas Kincaid to share his ideas about monolithic domes that he says can withstand a tornado, writes Tom Murray. The domes are inverted, steel-reinforced concrete bowls, whose solid construction can deflect extremely powerful winds. "Monolithic means one. We're talking about one piece as opposed to millions of pieces," Kincaid said.
